Lectures and seminars are regularly held at the NCFU Institute of Humanities with DAAD lecturers and teachers from Germany.
In May 2019, as part of the “German Phonetics Week” event facilitated by the North Caucasus Federal University, master classes and lectures were held with the participation of the lecturer of the Technical University Ilmenau Kristina Stute. The events were held for teachers and students of all specialties of NKFU, as well as for teachers of the German language and students of the Stavropol Cadet School.
At the end of March 2019, seminars were held by the DAAD lecturer Claudia Ulbrich (GRINT Kazan). During her visit to our University Claudia visited the DAAD German Centre in NCFU, held an open lecture in German for students of the Department of Translation Studies on “30th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall” and “Komm & Sieh Charity Project in Berlin” where she worked for some time. NCFU students had the opportunity to get acquainted with Cladia Ulbrich and ask her questions ranging from her personal experience during the historical events of 1989 to the problems of garbage and ecology.
In early March 2019, the German Language Week was held at NCFU with the support of the DAAD, during which, at the invitation of the German Academic Exchange Service and the Department of Translation Studies and the Scientific Library of NCFU, the German Germanist and poet Moritz Gauze from Humboldt University of Berlin paid the visit. In the quiz about German literature, students showed their knowledge, and a joint exhibition (of the library and DAAD fund) of German books and books of German authors was also presented. After that, Moritz Gauze invited everyone to the methodological seminar for teachers and students "How to write creatively." Students read their translations of a Moritz Gauze’s poem, read their own poems and sang to live music. The poetry workshop with Moritz Gauze lasted two days. The result of intensive creative work was a book with poems written by participants in German! Everyone was very pleased and admired the unusual approaches to poetry and language in general and the warm atmosphere thanks to the young poet and Germanist Moritz Gauze. Numerous students and guests at poetry evening could hear poems in German read by the author himself.
In November 2018, visiting professor of the DAAD program (DAAD-Kurzzeitdozentur), Professor Michael Dobstadt from the Dresden Technical University (TU), held various seminars for students and teachers of the university and schools on the topic “A modern approach to country studies in lessons of German as a foreign language”.
In June 2018, the DAAD lecturer Marlies Wenzel from Pyatigorsk State University visited NCFU to conduct seminars for students and teachers of the university and schools, as well as discuss future joint projects.
In May 2018, Klara Mule visited NCFU. Former soccer player of the German National Team, and today a coach, Clara held open lectures in German for students of the Department of Translation Studies, as well as physical education specialty students, about women's football, about the World Cup and about soccer training in Germany. She participated in a talk show organized and conducted by students of the Department of Journalism.
